Larger than life, a five lined skink! Plestiodon fasciatus. I have these guys everywhere outside my house.
Work time about 7-8 hours.
Original oven bake Sculpey over wire, painted with acrylics. Sealed with PLAID Patricia Nimocks "matte" spray, which I do not recommend. This stuff has been very hit and miss for me. To start, it isn't matte at all. One light coat produces a very noticeable shine, which is fine in some cases, but to call it "matte" is not accurate. The biggest problem is the stickiness. I used this same spray on my GSD sculpture a year ago, and it's remained perfectly smooth with no tackiness. However, this skink started becoming sticky about 24 hours after spraying. I am looking into alternative sealers, as I'm tired of destroying my work. Considering DuraClear brush on varnishes. Suggestions are welcome!
