Well...I dont know about silly--since I find the dancing beautiful (and it's actually hard from how much control they have over their entire body and all their muscles)...but I'm in a Javanese and Balinese Gamelan Orchestra where I live, and love the art, so, +Fave.

Agreed. The dancing may seem strange to those unfamiliar with it, but give it a bit of time, and you'll see some pretty fascinating things to it. For example, there's this kind of "shimmering" effect done with the fingers where they move side-to-side (not back-and-forth, like the "come here" gesture), and some moves are done with the eyes alone.
