Though there wasn’t too much of the setting shown off in the Penelope Parker section of the Spider-verse comic, I felt a desire to try and fiddle with the setting and play around with some ideas in regards to it. The setting seemed neat, and I wanted to do more with it.
As such, here we have Principal J. Jonah Jameson.
J. Jonah Jameson, in this universe, is the principal of Beagle Academy, a well respected school that extends from junior high through high school. It even sports its own online newspaper known as the ‘Daily Beagle’ that deals with the day to day goings on of not only the school itself, but the surrounding neighborhood.
Principal Jameson took an instant dislike to the sudden appearance and shenanigans of Spider-Girl, as he found her stunts to not only be potentially damaging to the image of the school, but also the fact that it might get the girl hurt as well. As a principal, he prides himself on trying to keep his students safe, and to see a young girl doing things that could potentially be dangerous fills him with some inner dread.
To him, Spider-Girl is a delinquent that needs to be caught and dealt with before she, in his mind, wrongfully influences the students and reputation of the school. He also wants to try and stop the girl before she grows up to be a ‘masked menace’.
