since I built an epic fence around it.

hehee, I just have a crazy ass network of well-lit underground tunnels, and of course every entrance into my tunnel network is surrounded for probably 15 blocks or so in every direction by torches, and I have windows and doors... I even have a tunnel running to a huge tower that I can just run out on the balcony of and snipe creepers and spiders with my bow... :) (digging all of those tunnels left me with a LOT of stone to build it out of... but surprisingly, not enough...I still haven't finished it yet...)

I had blocked off a horde of skeletons and found myself right next to a lava flow. There to my left, two diamond blocks . The my right, some red-stone. And then suddenly... what was that!? where is it? there was nothing behind me! Wait... Above!!! ...when I realized what had happened I was sinking to the bottom of the fiery lake. WHY GAWD WHY!!!!?
