Anyway, to answer your comments, yes, of course Sonic cares about Amy. A lot. He's speeding through the streets, putting up posters everywhere. It's just that it was late when she called, and what do guys SAY when they don't want to talk right now and if he'd known he totally would have picked up properly and it's not his fault he's doing everything he can now and... Well, Sonic's always had problems with showing his feelings. It's been two days since Amy vanished, and everybody's terribly worried... I bet they have so many questions...
