birthplace: Isengard
age: 22

appearence: Garakh is a young female orc/black uruk female with brown skin. The blood from her mother is dominant in her, giving her an upright profile and straight limbs. Garakh is sleek and muscular, with a solid, washboard core, powerful thighs, strong limbs and a toned, well-muscled back. Her skin is even and smooth, apart from a mess of flogging scars on her back and a vertical slash on her left shoulder. Garakh's head is shaved smooth and her sharp teeth are interlocking and triangular, like a shark's. Her claws are shiny black and sharp. Although the orc blood in her is dominant, Garakh is double-jointed and has the rat-like feet of a goblin, allowing her to climb exeptionally well and use them as a second pair of hands.
bio: Having a snaga for her father, Garakh was born smaller than the rest of her kin and expected to not last long. To everyone's surprise, Garakh did well. Once able to comprehend the concept, she begun sneaking into the meat larders and stealing the best cuts she could find, using the food the larger orc youngsters to protect her and keep her fed, and to treat her favorite siblings the same. Since only she knew the way into the larder without getting caught, any orc that might've ratted her out as a thief was swiftly killed by other orcs who wanted Garakh to keep supplying them, despite having no idea of where she was finding the food. Her mother quickly took note of her deviousness, and kept Garakh close, fearing how the higher ranking warriors might react if they found out who was stealing from the larders. The fact that Garakh brought her meat as well sweetened the deal. Garakh had several close calls during her forays, but always managed to shift the suspision to whoever pissed her off last.
As Garakh grew, she became took to travelling the area with her older brother, Zanzeg. On one occasion, Garakh was hunting for rabbits and birds in the forests outside Isengard when she was captured by a pair of monstrous Mountain trolls. Thinking on her feet, Garakh proposed a challenge to them. She prove that she's tougher than them, and they let her leave unharmed. Laughing at the gall of this young orc, the trolls agreed, and chained her outside their cave during the day as they hid to avoid the sun. Left unsupervised by her dim-witted captors, Garakh quickly got free from her ankle-chain and headed to the nearby river, from where she got some clay. She made a hollow rock shape out of the clay and filled it with water. Secondly, she caught two rabbits. One she kept alive after breaking it's leg to prevent escape and the other she smashed into paste with a rock, keeping the gory mess in a bag which she tucked down the front of her tunic.
When the trolls emerged the following night, they found Garakh sitting exactly how they left her and readied themselves. Garakh proclaimed that only a truly powerful warrior can squeeze water out of a rock. Amused, the trolls found two boulders and begun squeezing, applying all their might until their meaty arms trembled and the veins in their foreheads bulged at the effort to no effect. Producing the clay orb, she compressed it in her fist and smirked with amusement as the trolls watched the water flow out, their faces dumbstruck and confused. Now a little unnerved by this "All-powerful orc", the trolls didn't hesitate to agree to the next challenge, and smiles of mirth crossed their faces when Garakh demanded an eating contest. Scarfing down an entire Caravan of travelers they caught, the trolls watched as Garakh produced a live rabbit and devoured it, raw and wet, before moving onto the food that the caravan had. Garakh filled her stomach, before telling the female troll to see about finding more food.
With one troll out of the way, Garakh turned to the male with a devious glint in her eye. Making sure that her guard was watching her, she ripped open the front of her tunic, letting the bloody mess spill out and telling the troll she was "freeing up space" for the next course, and, hiding a sly smile, invited him to do the same if he's as tough as he thinks he is. The troll fell for her trick and slit himself open with his skinning knife. By the time it sank in that he had been tricked, he had reached in and disemboweled himself. Once he fell, Garakh climbed into his stomach cavity and waited for the thudding footsteps of the female returning. Finding her companion on his back and motionless, she assumed he was asleep until Garakh erupted from him with a ferocious roar, and devoured his heart in front of the terrified she-troll, before telling her that the male ate her so she killed him with her bare hands, ripping her way out. Terrified for her life, the troll didn't question Garakh and obeyed her command to come back to Orthanc with her.
the Isengarders fell silent in awe as Garakh came back, seated comfortably upon the troll's shoulder and covered head to toe in troll blood. The troll confirmed her tale that she slew it's companion with her bare claws. With a troll as her bodyguard and servant, Garakh spent any free time she got over the next few days bringing the troll's hoard back, starting with the dead troll's head under the illusion it was yet another troll she killed. With the location of the troll hoard known only to her and her trollish companion, she begun selling off the loot to elevate her status. She paid hunters to teach her how to track and kill prey, and the smithies of the black tower to train her in smithing. Since other orcs often fought over what she was offering, Garakh often helped herself to the gear of those killed during infighting and gave it to her father for him to fix up.
The rest of the troll hoard was later moved when thieves became a potential problem, particularly when the forests were chopped down to fuel the forges She considered stashing her goods in a grove she found while but an encounter with an ent sent her running all the way back to the tower. Upon return, she heard the crashes and booms of Saruman and Gandalf's duel in the tower and, used to the white wizard being noisy, bolted underground to her parents. It was around this time that Saruman begun to attack Rohan. Zanzeg was old enough to be included in the raids on Rohan and often brought back trinkets and man-flesh for his sister. One of her most prized gifts was a serrated butchering dagger that her dunelanding grandfather got for her.
To keep her from being in the way as armies came and left (and avoid Saruman seeing her), Garakh stayed with her parents underground. She had just left her father's forge when a great cacophony caught her attention. Zanzeg suddenly scooped her up as orcs, goblins and Uruk hai stampeded through the tunnels, to avoid a vast torrent of water. Although thoroughly drenched and half drowned, Garakh survived and joined the many hundreds of refugees heading to Mordor. Upon arrival, she became an apprentice to the lead midwife. Though her sharp tongue and stubborn nature bought her more lashings than she can remember, her lessons and
experience left her with invaluable knowledge of healing salves and poisons, and having her patient's lives in her hands enabled her to exchange medical aid for goods she'd otherwise never find herself. She also took to shaving her head so her mistress had one less thing to seize. During her time in the birthing pits of Barad Dur, she befriended a mighty Black Uruk named Angurz after he was maimed in Osgiliath. On one foray for healing herbs in Minas Morgul, she encountered a Ringwraith and after being scared out of her wits, she ran all the way back to the tower and the head mid-wife saw it in her eyes. For once, she didn't catch a whip to the back for her crass attitude.
Only days later, the tower collapsed. Garakh was grabbed by Angurz and carried to safety. Heading into the misty Mountains with some survivours, becoming their healer. Garakh became Angurz's mate and shaulk, soon baring him a daughter they named Ragga. Four days after Ravarg's birth, Garakh went to collect healing herbs for her pregnant friend and to soothe her own birthing pains from Ravarg. She returned to find her clan massacred by rangers and threw caution to the wind in a desperate attempt to find her children. She saw their murderers were rangers of Gondor and without thinking, charged at them. She impaled one from behind and dug through the pile of corpses. Finding her children, she held their bodies against herself and wept bitterly, full of rage and sorrow. So caught up in her sadness, she didn't hear the Ranger's companion until he cornered her. She stabbed the second ranger in the stomach and although he stabbed her shoulder, they both survived. Bitter and injured. Garakh hid for several months in sorrow, distraught and alone for several years
Until now...
Personality: As an orc, Garakh is naturally hot-tempered, aggressive and quick to violence, yet possesses a mile-long cunning streak and while not a genius, she's literate and a lot smarter than most of her peers. She's creative, quick-witted and inventive, and unlike many of her kind, is usually patient enough to avoid losing her temper. Charismatic and devious, Garakh has the ear of her kin via well-made gifts and her cunning wiles, and is a great deal fairer than most of her kind when given authority, knowing that she gets better results with the promise of reward than the fear of punishment. However, she isn't afraid of slapping them around with force and threats if bribes and charm fail, and won't hesitate to kill those who push her too far. Garakh fears Sauron and hates Ring-wraiths, and is immensely glad to know they're gone. Such is her fear that she never once attempted to fool them in her cunning swindles, but keeps said fears to herself. Unlike most Orcs, Garakh is usually happy to work with non-Orcish species as long as they do what she says and don't try to attack her. She's also mischievous, crass, sarcastic and often profane in speech and without the endless whisper of Sauron in her mind, she has a kind heart and reasonably friendly.
