I don't think he was a deadbeat dad so much as he was simply so determined to keep everyone he cared for safe that he cut off all ties to keep them away from him and the danger he was involved in. But he wanted to be with them the entire time, as shown in the movie (I won't say exactly how since I don't know if you've actually seen it or not, or just to avoid spoilers in general).

BTW, I love all your Egon art. The movie was awesome not simply for bringing back the characters and stories that so many Ghostbusters fans wanted for so long, but for also being a tribute to Ramis as he helped Dan Aykroyd create Ghostbusters and bring the story and world to life.

I understand why he was and had to be(?) like that, but it didn't translate to his family and friends who were just lead to believe he was just "crazy" and an "asshole" like Callie put it. But he definitely would've been there for his family and friends if not for the uh. Literal End of the World 😂
