The Comedian was a great character. Arrogant and bold, but misunderstood.

i always thought it was interesting how the comedian became such a polarized patriot...guns blazing, grenades popping, and nothing but a grin for the world no matter how much the $#!7 hit the fan. he's almost the exact image america was trying to portray up until Vietnam, and given who history unfolds in watchmen, probably what we would have become as a nation...

I think that's actually the statement the comedian character is supposed to make in general

Favorite scene has to be when Rorschach throws the hot grease in the one inmates face. Then his epic line, "You all don't seem to get it. I'm not locked in here with you, your locked in here with me!"
