WIP of one of the new friends you will meet in Castor & Pollux, provided I get to it. I reallyreallyreally want to. :)
In Vinci & Arty's world, not many insects made the transition to "two legs". Some did; butterflies for example. Ladybugs and dragonflies also are considered attractive.
Some, aren't quite so lucky. Spiders and their ilk, millipedes, centipedes.. anything with multi-legs and a "Saggitaurian" build is sadly scorned, treated as though they aren't intelligent (such that many of these individuals have come to -believe- that.) Snakes, like Daruma, have a -slightly- better rep. Other animals are aware that snakes are intelligent; they're just frightened of them.
Some Saggitaurians know better than to believe they're not as intelligent as two-legged animals. Pitter, who is a Saggitaurian poisonous spider , is one of them. He's also probably one of the most brilliant people around, a real bookworm of a spider, you could say! Pitter wants to prove to everyone, two-leggeds AND Saggitaurians alike, that he and others like him might be somewhat related to "wild" spiders (come on, there's only barely a resemblance), and he might have poisonous fangs, a lot of legs n' eyes and a scary looking appearance, but there's a lot more to him than meets the eye. :)
He fits in with a lot of the theme I've got going on for the comic in general.. the idea that there's more to everyone than a first impression...
