A gourd painting made for
wolfen89. They requested a chocolate colored Lionhead Rabbit to be painted on a gourd for their friend. They breed and show these adorable fluffy rabbits. I melted as soon as I saw references for lionhead bunnies! THEY'RE SO CUTE!

Fancy you should ask. Gourds don't rot. The only part of the gourd that rots is the skin, which must be scrubbed off before it can be even used in arts and crafts. Under the skin is the semi-glossy shell that will only rot if the gourd is thin. I only use thick shelled, sturdy gourds. But I do use a sealer and varnish to keep paint from cracking and to keep water out. :)
