You may be hearing some of the feedback/warp of the delay itself. I'm using ValhallaSupermassive for the delay, and it has many settings that correspond to different parts of the delay. However, I haven't altered the tuning of the piano at all, the notes are being played as-is in the Spitfire Audio Soft Piano plugin. They might have something on them that you could be hearing.
