It was bound to happen sooner or later. Might as well get it out of the way now. I chose to exclude Legendary and Mythical Pokémon, Ultra Beasts, Mega Evolutions, and Gigantamax. So without further ado, my favorite Pokémon of each typing.
Decidueye: A owl-archer who can shoot feathery arrows that can also trap their opponents, an awesome Z-Move, and is a blast to play as in Pokkén.
Blaziken: Do I even need to explain? A fighting rooster that uses fire (drops mic).
Greninja: The moment I saw this guy, in X & Y I was like “Shut up and take my money!” Then he appeared in Smash and got itself a new form for battle to eventually become one of the most popular Pokémon of all time (See Pokémon of the Year 2020). Tell me why this guy isn’t in Pokkén.
Silvally: I’m a fan of its design, its origin story, and its ability to swap typing with the memories. I even have a figure of it on my desk.
Pikachu: I know Pikachu is a little overrated but I couldn’t resist. I mean, if not for this guy, Pokémon wouldn’t have become the global sensation it is.
Metagross: One of the two Pseudo-Legendaries that’s not a Dragon-type, I had give this spot to the powerhouse of metal and psionic power. That and it has one of the best Shiny Pokémon I’ve ever seen.
Lucario: THIS guy! This guy right here is the reason why I got back into Pokémon. What? Need more? Alright, fine. A great design, amazing stats, diverse moveset, aura sensing abilities, and appears in everything since it’s debut in its OWN MOVIE! Really should replace Pikachu as the franchise mascot in my personal, honest opinion...
Lycanroc (Dusk Form): It was a difficult choice to decide which Lycanroc form was my favorite. Back when when there were only two, I learned towards Midnight Form but when Dusk form was revealed, I was like: “Welp, I just found my favorite doggo.”
Garchomp: The Pseudo-Legendary Ace of one of the toughest champions. What’s more to add?
Talonflame: SPEED IS KEYYY!! That’s what this falcon’s about.
Volcarona: I’m not that big on bug type Pokémon, but this one is the most interesting to me. According to the Pokédex lore, Volcarona releases burning scales from its wings to save people and Pokémon in freezing climates, was feared as the "rage of the sun" by ancient people, and it was even worshiped as a deity of fire in some places. That alone gets respect in my book.
Gengar: The OG Ghost-Type had be on this list. While it’s technically more of a Ghost-Type than a Poison-Type I chose a different Pokémon for that spot, so I’m putting this nightmare-fuel ghost where it currently sits.
Zoroark: An Illusion Fox. Seriously, what more needs to be said about these guys. They have a
Aegislash: I’m kind of a sucker when it comes to swords. So seeing this ghostly sword and shield as a Pokémon got me hyped up. It also has two forms for battle, so that’s pretty cool.
Abomasnow: I usually don’t use Ice-Types, so their for my favorites for Ice-Types are limited. So I went with this physical powerhouse that resembles an abominable snowman.
Corviknight: A recent addition to the Pokédex, I can’t remember who I originally put here but I decided to give this spot to this guy. Aside from its cool design, it can be used as a taxi service.
Salamence: Just a badass Dragon-Type with a cool Mega Evolution. ‘Nuff said.
Alolan Ninetales: This typing was a little tricky to figure out but I think that fairy types suck :/ Not to say I don't like classic Ninetales and since the Ice-Type spot was already filled, I went with the next best thing.
