Unbeknownst to her, Ren's life hit an unexpected turn...
Born in Tokyo, Ren was raised by her mother Atsuko, who was a native, and father Kenneth; the latter of which was Australian. For most of her life, she was raised lovingly by both her parents.... though one day, Kenneth started to act a little odd. It wouldn't be until the family went to see a Luau that young Ren became interested in Polynesian culture, particularly Maori culture. Her father, much to the shock of both Ren and Atsuko, reacted rather harshly and shouted at the poor pup. This caused Ren to run away in tears and hide in her room. She avoided Kenneth, who tried many times to apologize for his behavior, for a week before she started talking to him again.
When mother and daughter did start talking to him again, he tried to say that he acted the way he did for a reason; which only made the two upset when he said how ridiculous Polynesian culture was. This made Atsuko question why he thought that way, stating how Japanese culture had traditions that many in the west still have trouble understanding. Ren added that just because one culture is different, it doesn't give him the right to be so mean.
This, unknown to Ren, sparked something within Kenneth.... something she wouldn't find out till much later. One day, Kenneth announced that they'd be going on a trip to New Zealand, the home of his father. The surprised Ren as Kenneth never spoke about his family life and always avoided talking about it since she was very little. Ren and her mother had the time of their lives as they visited Aukland and saw many a Maori show, though her father seemed rather hesitant. One spot they found would forever haunt Ren till this day.
They came to a house, which was the same one Kenneth grew up in before moving to Australia though it was occupied by a family Kenneth didn't recognize. It was here that Kenneth revealed that, not only was he married before Atsuko, but that he had a child from that marriage; a son. Ren was taken aback when her father revealed that he was bullied growing up, didn't appreciate the life he had, and had a huge falling out with his father and older brother. He blamed everything on the fact he was part Maori and even abandoned the son he had. The reason for their holiday was because had tried to reconcile with his son, father, and brother years prior.... only to find out that his father (also named Kenneth) had passed away. Not only that, but his son moved away without telling anyone and his brother refused to even look at him.
To say Ren was in shock was an understatement; though she had a big, loving family in Japan.... she had a grandfather, an uncle, and even an older brother she knew nothing about. She was upset at her father at first for countless reasons, mainly for the reason he never told her about extended family; when she saw just how remorseful he was, she and her mother comforted him as well as they could. Over the years, Kenneth slowly tried to get in touch with his Maori touches, which many of Atsuko's family joined in.
Ren would slowly bloom into a lovely young woman, gaining a boyfriend, who later became her fiance; a wolf named Manu Kosugi. Manu, who was Tongan on his father's side, would help Ren and her family understand more of Polynesian culture. One day, during her college years, Ren, Manu, and Ren's family went on holiday in Wellington, when two little dingo pups bumped into her. Ones who were as white as snow. Though their babysitter, a Tasmanian devil, was wary at first, Ren showed she was no one dangerous. They were soon joined by the others and talked to Amelia (the Tasmanian devil) about how unique both pups looked. In fact..... their appearance was familiar to Kenneth for some reason..... Even more so when the pups shyly noticed Ren's father's name.... was the same as their dad's....
Both groups soon parted ways but bumped into one another, along with another group...... one that had Kenneth's ex-wife Wren! Not only that, but she had also remarried and had a son of her own; Ben Gan. But that wasn't the big surprise..... the big surprise was that the twin's father..... was Ken Dalton himself! The IV, Ren's older half-brother! The one her father had been searching for all these years!
Though Ren herself was overjoyed to finally meet the older brother she hoped to see for years.... Ken's feelings weren't mutual. During the whole vacation, Ken either acted cold and distant or outright hostile to both his parents and barely acknowledged his half-siblings, despite Ren's best efforts. It wouldn't be until Ken punched out Kenneth's (the 3rd, apparently) lights out and nearly brutally beat Ben, who showed a lot of attitudes, that all sides were finally able to sit down and talk.
Ren reached out to Ken, despite being upset he hurt their father, and begged him for a chance to get to know one another. Understanding why he acted the way he did, states Kenneth 3rd truly regretted what had happened and while he and their uncle, who was Len, had every right to feel the way they did; Kenneth 3rd had legitimately changed. After some time, Ren was more than happy to see that Ken had made amends with his parents; more so that she and Ben were able to get to know each other as well as their older brother.
Deciding to be close, Ren and Manu decided to move to America and open a Japanese-style resort to be close with Ken and his pups; Ben had the same idea as he also moved and got a job at a Korean restaurant as well.
Ren works with her fiancee as chefs in a Japanese resort that serves many Japanese delights: okonomiyaki, monjanyaki, gyudon, takoyaki, and many more. She's a black belt in Goju-ryu Karate, Shorinji Kempo, Daito-ryu Aiki-jiujutsu, Kouga-ryu Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, and many weapon styles; she's also learning Mau Rakau from Ken. Ren is a kind and polite woman, easy to make friends with; though it is easy to get n her bad side should anyone try and pick a fight or mess with her loved ones. She's great with kids, often teaches self-defense to minors, and offers to look after the twins, just so she can bond with her niece and nephew. She's straight, though a bit bi-curious, and enjoys ravaging her beau in bed.
Ren belongs to me.
