Giraffe
Designed by Shuki Kato
Folded by me in 12 hours
I used one square of 50cm mulberry paper, treated with methylcellulose.
It feels good to fold something after so long, I didn't have time to do anything because of midterms so I decided to come back to it with a diagram. This model was a blast to fold like pretty much all of Shuki's models, and I'm pretty happy with the result.
The shaping was a bit tricky since I wanted to give it as realistic of a look as I could so it took me a lot of time (and frustration). The result is far from perfect but I'm still happy with it. It was also my first time using mulberry and it was the perfect paper for it, very thin so optimal for such a complex model, but thick enough to give it some rigidity.
