Long before Mei-Zhen became the woman she is now, she used to be quite the lively one back in the day. When she was in her early to mid 20's, she used to dress up in outfits like this when out and about. Many guys desired her, but none ever truly got her, though some were close, until she met her future husband, Yingjie.

Mei-Zhen was still a martial artist in training though, but at this age she was a bit more brash and impulsive about it.

Plus, in the modern times, her daughter Mei-Lia wears a similar outfit to the one she wore. Like mother, like daughter, one would say.
