So after spending years browsing through thousands of diaper art, I noticed that there are plenty of ways different artists have drawn diapers, so I created a little list/chart highlighting a few notable elements.
Tape Size:
1. Tiny
Real small, similar in width and size to stationery masking tape.
2. Normal
Regular sized tapes for baby diapers, and 4 taped adult diapers
3. Obvious
Larger than normal tapes, can be obviously identified from afar.
4. Blocky
Big tapes, which are starting to look more blocky, 2 taped ABDL diapers tend to use these.
5. Massive
Very large, and almost completely square shaped.
Waistband Height:
1. Low
Very low, almost similar to the length of the elastic in briefs.
2. Short
A bit more reasonable but often short for a diaper.
3. Average
Most waistbands tend to go up to around the bellybutton area.
4. Tall
Fully covers up the bellybutton, often mean for 4 tapes.
5. Hiked up
These can go as high up as to just slightly bellow the chest!
Texture:
1. Paper flat
Completely flat with very little to no folds, or frills.
2. Light folds
Some light creases here and there.
3. Ruffled
creases and folds along the top, and maybe some exposed leak guards.
4. Crinkly
Same as above but more exaggerated.
5. Frilly
A lot of creases along the waistband region, and often oversized, frilly leak guards
Padding:
1. Slim
kinda flat with smooth curves, around the thickness of a pair of training pants
2. Realistic
Most diapers IRL usually tend to have this amount of thickness to their padding
3. Thick
A more exaggerated version of the realistic one, with a rounder, more obvious look
4. Bulky
thicker and bulkier, diapers drawn like this tend to spread the legs apart
5. Poofy
Very round and thick, almost circle shaped, anything above 5 goes into the hyper range.
My personal Preference is 3 across the board, although I tend to prefer more realistic sized padding, sometimes making it thicker depending on different factors, usually anatomy.
What are yours?

I kinda have a three-wide preference range for these.
Tape size: 2 to 4.
Waistband height: 2 to 4, with an exception for 5 if being depicted on a tiny newborn cub.
Texture: 3 to 5.
Padding: 2 to 4; 5 is good if it's depicted as soaked with fluid (either the "usual" or artificially soaked with water eg. sourced from garden hose or pool).

A most delightful observation. I can certainly say that, in the days I could still see with my own eyes, different artists put various amounts of attention to a character's padded protection.

Sadly, I do not believe I was able to see your style before I went 100% blind. However, given the views and favorites you get for your work, I'd have to say you do not disappoint with your portrayal of one's pamps. :)

I'm in agreement with your liking of a ranking of '3' for each category. It is typically how I imagine Yosh sporting enjoying his diapers.
Having the waistband / flagging just under the belly button is quite cute. As Yosh has a bit of a tummy on him, this makes this particular region of the diaper kind of cover his belly, but you still see his tummy pudge.
The ability to clearly identify where the legs / leakguards should be is also, to me, important. It helps to seperate the legs from the diaper and, given the amount of wear and tear, can show how much action the diaper has been through during its time with the wearer. (Prolonged activity, like running, seems to loosen up the diaper until it reaches a point where the leakguards, if not already showing signs of use, will expose just enough of what is being covered by the diaper to know that a change may soon be in order.)
Soft texture and noticeable, but not too much, bulk helps to show how the diaper is able to genuinely do its work when the wearer uses it. This is why, personally, I like the little 'pouch' that seems to be designed into the backside of a disposable. If Yosh makes a mush, it can safely slide and store itself so that it doesn't get beyond the padded prison while making contact with the contents of what he dropped minimal on his feathery rump. The slight curving in the front sets a great example for how well the garment takes in, starts to swell, and begins to distribute wetness. Combined, they allow for subtle, yet noticeable, drooping that activates the leakguards while determining just how much more the diaper can take before things become messy on the outside.
As for tapes, they should be noticeable, but not too noticable. This allows for perfect placement to kind of hide the fact a diaper is not the same as a training pant in how it is placed upon its wearer. Misplaced tapes can allow for noticeability of how the front of the diaper is not directly connected to its back.

Overall, artist wise from memory, I've had some good fun in seeing the way 'Pidgo Pidgey', 'Tavimunk', and 'Plinkie Poi' have designed their diapers. 'Lucca', "Nishi', and 'Landonbay' made the most accurate to Yosh standards. Oh, I cannot forget 'LeonXIII' for how delightfully whimsical / cartoony his diapers are made. 'Kaffre' and 'Zee-Zee' have a childlike, crayon-to-paper look that are cute, too!

*Sighs* I wish I could have been able to get a good enough look at your design to say a genuine thought on what you do. However, from what you describe, I know I'd be quite the fan. :)

Well, my actual preferred diaper reference is:
Tape size: Both 2. Normal and 3. Obvious. (I might've prefer normal just a bit over obvious)
Waistband Height: 5. Hiked Up (I prefer to draw diapers with waistbands that fully cover the belly button and reaching up to the chest >w<)
Texture: 3. Ruffled (Although I am doing 4. Crinkly with the creases and the leak guards as well, same with a bit of 2. Light fold with the wings on the diaper)
Padding: 5. Poofy (This is my favourite because it is so cute and adorable. Also I prefer this preference of padding over the 4 smaller ones, any day)

i'm imagining a store where you can order custom diapers and select your preferences for your order
my preference is a little different because i'm more comfortable with pullups than tape-on diaps, but if i had to choose then i'd say 3 or 4 for tapes. for waistband, i think i'd want them to be low and discreet, so 2. texture, paper flat. i don't like the ruffles or frills. and finally, i'd go for maximum poof for maximum difficulty, as i like to challenge myself to holding my pee and the poofier the diaper, the harder it'd be to hold!

For me, it's
Tape Size: 2-5 (as long the tape could "reasonably" keep a diaper from falling off)
Waistband Height: 1-5 (depends on the art style but mostly the less padding there is, the funner it is the higher the waistband is)
Texture: 1-2,
Padding: 4-6+ (from exxagerated to just plain unrealistic) - and I wish there was real life counterparts so I could get them
