Meine gefesselten Lieblingswölfe 39: Voolfiv Monn
Of course I can not leave out my "Spezi" Voolfiv Monn, who decided to face his captivity with lots of dignity, patience and a little nap. Cut off from the force because of the Ysalamir nearby he couldn´t free himself anyway.
Star Wars belongs to Disney
It is pathetic, but this is the very first pic I finished in this new year. All the other posts were drawn during the hoidays last year^^;
I guess I am now really starting to lose my touch

The Ysalamir blocks off the force, so poor Voolfiv can not open the handcuffs with his mind and he can not persuade the guard with the force to open the bindings and remove the gag. The gag itself prevents the Shistavanen from biting, so killing the Ysalamir is out of option. Brute force is not enough to break free from the handcuffs. So struggling is useless. - What to do? One might as well could make the best out of the situation and restore some energy by taking a nap, for it doesn´t look like Voolfiv would be in imediate danger at the moment.
Of course he might actually be deep in meditation and that he is not in fact snoring but uttering a mantra in his native Shistavanen language. Though when there isn't at present any real chance of escape then he might as well ensure he gets some sleep.
I wonder though if the Ysalamir might become curious regarding the snoozing Shistavanen and venture down from it's branch to come and investigate Voolviff, with the Jedi perhaps awakening to find that the Ysalamir had tucked itself inside his robe and fallen asleep against his fur or perhaps being abruptly awoken by a tickling sensation as the Ysalamir sniffs at his feet.

Adorable as allways^^
If I remember correctly, Ysalamiri can not leave the branches of their trees. Jedipedia stated that they are connected to their tree from birth to death, otherwise the creature would die, and only General Thrawn found a method to keep the branch alive to transport the Ysalamir and put them to use against force users

A pity really and with Voolvif being handcuffed he wouldn't be able to pet the Ysalamir.
With the presence of the Ysalamir here I imagine that Voolvif Monn's captor might well be Grand Admiral Thrawn. Surviving the Clone Wars Voolvif might have hidden out in the Unknown Regions and been found by Thrawn. Thrawn would likely consider the Shistavanen Jedi would be a useful ally if persuaded to his cause, though taking precautions to ensure that he was contained in secure conditions but to not be ill-treated.
Currently watching on the security monitors, a trio of guards would have noticed the Shistavanen currently sleeping with a certain amount of amusement and bemusement.
Guard 1: Well I guess he's a pretty old Shistavanen so he probably needs his sleep.
Guard 2: You know, he does actually look kind of cute like this.
Guard 3: Yeah, they're not always so fierce. There was this smuggler we caught once, must have been almost as big as a Wookiee. Took about four or five of us to hold him down but...you might not know this but there's a trick to it. You rub their belly just right and it's really funny. There's this cute little yelp they make and they wiggle their legs around. Big guy didn't give us any trouble after that.
Guard 2: Really?
Guard 3: Yeah.
Guard 1: Well, the old guy looks sound asleep. Why don't you try it with him.
Guard 3: Okay, I will.
Guard 2: So you think he's going to get bitten?
Guard 1: No, that gag's good and tight and it's probably not a Jedi thing to bite.
Guard 2: Maybe I could pet him them.
Guard 1: Uh, we were told not to mistreat the prisoner.

I imagine Voolvif would retain his dignity and resist any instinctual urges, though he would remember the actions of the guards as well as their scents. After he'd reached an accommodation with Thrawn and at least a degree of freedom and trust, he might perhaps pat the second and third guards on the head telling them what good boys they were.
Though I imagine that there might have at times perhaps been a youngling or even a Padawan whom might have come across Voolvif Monn when he was in deep meditation and perhaps been tempted to pet him. Possibly K'Kruhk or other furred Jedi might also have occasionally have the same happen to them.
Most likely I would say.^^
I guess it wouldnt hurt to give a little spoiler to what kind of idea I had for my fanfiction comic story about Voolfiv Monn for the later chapters:
He never had a padawan during his time with the order. Voolfiv Monn mostly stayed at a remote place to meditate and train his skills, as jedipedia stated. So he never learned to teach. But after several adventures he encountered and arcadian girl I named Suraquiel, who was sensitive to the force and she became his apprentice. He soon thought of her like a daughter.
I had several more ideas, but I somehow doubt I can finish this story ever...^^;

For every idea that can be assigned to canvas or written there are so many more that remain in the imagination. Though even if remaining in the imagination and known only to you, Voolvif Monn's saga will have grown far beyond his brief appearances on the screen.
That he did in the end have an apprentice, one whom was as a daughter to him and whom he would have taught well and wisely in the Force and of much else, that much in itself is good to know that he and Suraquiel found each other.

Spezi is so cute while he's sleeping like this. At the very least he has the good sense to conserve energy instead of constantly struggling to get out of his bindings and make himself sweaty (although...that isn't a bad thing either). He looks so content with just napping and peaceful as well. As he sleeps, I'd be rather content to watch a bit closer and frantically soak in the sight of his fuzzy chest slowly breathing in and outward, as well as can imagine he'd have a bit of drool as he sleeps, the trail slithering and coating his gag as well as trickling down this cutie's sharp canine teeth. This is certainly a cute jedi~ (I didn't know that there were creatures that could cut off the force source from the user. But then I never delved too deep into Star Wars lore, especially since Disney decided it was smart to invalidate most of it now) Seeing this completely in pencil makes Voolfiv Monn's fur more..prickly. I'd gently trail my fingers thru it all, especially on his 'beard'. Ah, why must you keep attacking me with such handsome men? And you added draping to his robe wear as well to signify the long arms the robes usually have. Because you stuck to pure pencil work here, the shadows have a natural flow of going from lighter to darker within this picture smoothly. I like this a lot. The jedi looks slightly grumpy as he's sleepy, due to the slight eyebrow furrow.
-///- I...can't help but..notice his..feet either. How his hindpaws are just positioned like that, just..waiting for some foot disciple to lay on the prison's floor, inch one's head beneath his leg and silently gaze upon that tender flesh. Maybe even..giving it a small lick..or two..or three. Might make "Spezi's" feet a bit twitchy. And the hairs on the tops of his feet, goodness gracious, I'd love to brush my nose gently up and down that surface area..and give a sniff, as I feel the tufts of fur tickle my nose as they are raised and weave to strength of my breathing. His dainty toes need loving suckles as well, right on the toeclaws first that glisten within this dungeon, and then up to the toes themselves. I can't quite help myself but be infatuated by his feet. I would think that the Ysalamir will actively stare at such a strange sight before ignoring it, heading back to its feeding of force energy. (well I assume that's how this creature cancels out Monn's force abilities) I hope I haven't gotten a bit too slobbery again in..this category. -///-

His fate unknown but it had always been suspected that Voolvif Monn had survived Order 66 and of all the Jedi he'd be one of the most adept at surviving alone and keeping himself hidden. Perhaps it wasn't so surprising to find him out there in the Unknown Regions and for Grand Admiral Thrawn the Shistavanen Jedi presented an opportunity. Persuading him of the merits of an alliance would be difficult but in comparison to the mad clone Joruus C'Baoth a much more reliable and less dangerous option as an ally.
Voolvif was not to be mistreated though it was a necessity to ensure he was cut off from the Force and given time to consider the merits of an alliance. Gagged and cuffed but with the emphasis on the bonds being secure but not painful, though the Jedi had seemed to respond with indifference maintaining a stoic dignity. He would be given regular food and water while Thrawn studied what Shistavanen artworks were available and left implicit instructions to treat the prisoner kindly.
There had been speculation amongst the guards as to whether the Shistavanen was meditating with the rumbling sounds being a growled mantra or whether he was actually fast asleep. While he still looked in peak condition, he was probably fairly old for a Shistavanen. It was however time for his next meal and so it was necessary to enter the cell.
Almost certain the Shistavanen was awake, the guard had meant to awaken Voolvif but he had been a little curious. The fur wasn't as rough as it looked, actually quite soft and it was only when the guard realised that Voolvif's eyes were wide open and glaring at him that he realised he'd been petting him under the chin.
Something of a lapse in discipline but not deserving of anything more than a minor reprimand and Thrawn did consider it provided a possible insight. Such a reclusive and isolationistic people and whose intimidating appearance kept those who encountered them at bay, yet perhaps here was a method to break through that fierce demeanour.
