This character project started as me trying to redesign my name sake character for this site, spottedPegasus. Somewhere in the mix the design went into me taking apart the equine face, and seeing what part of the jaw would look like if it were bone. I have sketches of this character with a scull and the lower jaw just hanging off of the side (That might also become yet another character.) and as quickly as I took the jaw apart in my design, I began to put it back together. It became a matter of sympliphying the different forms over the skin of the horse and the feet are actually interesting as well. As long as I was choosing to make this a new character and make her creapy with a simpler form, why even have her feet there? Yes this image has the outline of the foot in light and dotties to make up shadow. I see this as some sort of power and my thingy here becoming some sort of nightmare. Who knows. She’s continuing to evolve on me, and I’m letting her. (Funny fact here, she started out as a he character. Just another evolution.)
