1302 submissions
I've been trying to figure out good ways to share these for a hot minute, and it loooooks like most of the places I post take GIFs, so okay! Rendering these short bits as animated GIFs, why not. Apparently FA doesn't take files bigger than 10MB, so a bit smoll for compression, but okay, whatever! Basically I've been working on a long-form Sonic TF animation story thing for literally years, and yeah. This is it! This particular shot is just part of the transition from the last scene, but whatevs, gonna post it this way anyway!
The best way to see the full animation is here, on Vimeo, since I can (and do!) update the full render regularly, rather than making a whole new submission. ^_^ It's a whole thing.
ARRRRGH, I took so long on this! Basically, I was all, "Yay! Scene 8's done! Now I can move on to the next scene!" and forgot I ALSO wrote a ridiculous scene transition I literally described as: "The three exit the room via the same window. Pull back through room, through door, down hallway, up staircase, down another hallway (UGH. I'm gonna kill me for this), to Eggman walking in the direction we just were, talking to a dude in an army uniform, the Commander."
Yeah, we're NOT doing that involved of a pull-back, because quite frankly that was written with the intention to do most of the heavy lifting in 3D software I don't have the license for anymore, and I'm suuuper disinclined to teach myself a new 3D modelling and animating software right now. We're just gonna hafta live with NOT doing that.
ToonBoom Harmony has a very nice multi-plane camera tool that I'm super happy to abuse, so I utilized that again here (and assets from the first shot of the previous scene, cuz fuuuuuck), and I think I have a plan for how I'll set up a shorter pull-out, but yeah. Fuckin' WHOOPS.

^_^ I'm super excited you like it! ^_^ This project is really huge -- both in scale and just in importance to me -- so yeah, really happy to be sharing it more widely.
And yeah! You got a decent amount of the premise there! This trio are awakening to who and what they really are, and it's a result of a thing Eggy did...but it technically wasn't Chaos Control, and it wasn't intentional! But the hows and whys haven't been revealed yet, and...^_^;; yeah, that doesn't get laid out until zone/episode 7...because writing is a lot faster than animating!

If there's one thing I've noticed, it's that those kinds of projects always are. I love reading parts of things I've written with my friends out loud with them at times just for us to relive the scenes and bring the characters to life. :D Keep up the great work. You and the all the rest of your team. :D
