Drawing clothing has always challenged me; I've spent a lot of time recently working on anatomy and muscle/joint structures, and learning how fabric behaves is a whole different animal!
Nevertheless, I have been thinking about the clothing my characters would have access to; they live in a hugely diverse world that is, among other things, notable for its relative lack of the macro-economic structures we live around in the real world - globalisation, capitalism, consumerism etc. As a result, artisanal trades and professions like tailoring would remain mainstream into the modern era, giving rise to the notion of everyone wearing clothing that is not mass-produced.
So I got to doodling some ideas. Tunics, linen wraps, loose and flow-y garments, all made from sturdy and dependable textiles and hand-constructed.
As nice as 'jeans, hoodies, sweatpants and t-shirts' are, there's no reason why that's the mainstay of my characters' wardrobe!
