Personality: Gentlemanly, educated, suave, kind. Under it all is a cunning mind with a passion for learning and furthering his knowledge of the arts of alchemy, the occult, and the mystic arts. He has his charismatic side, honed by the need to be a leader of sorts to what vampires remain in the world. Most of all he remains a hedonist from his earlier years, which he clings onto.

Abilities:

Vampire: As a vampire, Benjamin possesses supernatural strength, speed, reflexes, endurance, senses, and stamina as well as healing and even outright regeneration if he has enough blood to convert into the needed mass. He is also able to command vermin (insects, rodents, etc.), become mist, and transform into a wolf or bat monster.

He furthermore has powerful mystical eyes of enchantment, allowing him to perform high-level hypnosis, and can establish an area as his domain, where he can influence the weather, vegetation, and so forth.

Blood Magic: As part of his vampiric nature, Benjamin has a strong affinity for Hemothurgy, which he has honed over the centuries to use for self-defense, binding, banishing, summoning, and divination.

Alchemy: Benjamin's true passion, honed over centuries of study and tireless research. He has long achieved the ability to transmute substances from one form to another, manipulate elements, and craft a wide variety of potions and objects so long as he has the needed materials.

Weaknesses: As a vampire, Benjamin is rendered vulnerable under sunlight, as all his powers weaken or vanish outright. He must sleep in his native soil at least once every seven days or suffer outright loss of his powers until he can sleep for a full seven days in said soil. He must drink blood every day for sustenance, or weaken gradually until he falls into a torpor. Holy symbols and sacred ground repel him, holy water burns him, and certain sacred rites can repel him. He is repelled by garlic as well, and silver burns him and he cannot quickly heal from wounds dealt by it.

A stake of yew or ash to his heart will kill him, and he is a cleithrophobe.

Profile: Benjamin was born at the literal dawn of the 19th Century, a mark of pride to the prestigious Blackmoor family of Dartmoor. Indeed, with his brilliant mind and charm, he was set to lead his family into the new era with gusto. And then, while attending university at Oxford, he fell prey to the advances of a vampire. While at one of the highly secretive men's social clubs that were truly a way for men who only preferred the company of men, his paramour of the evening took him aside, and charmed him with hypnotic arts. Again and again Benjamin was fed on over the course of days, until at last the vampire formally inducted him into the moonlit world.

At first Benjamin was enthralled with his vampiric state, in a state of hedonistic joy under his master's guidance, taking up his family's reigns and ensuring that despite his now unaging nature he could carry the name and title forever, under different assumed names. From the Regency to the Victorian era, and beyond, he kept to the moonlit world of the creatures of the night, partaking of its politics and intrigue, studying the true mysteries of the world mortals pretended to know or scraped the surface of. Then, came the turn of the millennium, and the Great Hunt that made him into the oldest active vampire on Earth.

With all the other elders exterminated at the event he had been excluded from by his old mentor due to rash decisions (and being kept out due to injury from an alchemical accident on top of that), Benjamin is now the only vampire on Earth with more than a century to his name, all others having been sired no earlier than the mid 20th Century. He has the eyes of multiple vampire hunting and monster slaying groups on him as he does what he can to guide the remaining vampires who will listen to him, and leaving the rest to the hunters.

He currently makes his home in Advent City, owning and running the Blackmoor Private Hospital to ensure he and those loyal to him have a steady supply of high quality blood, and that the heroes of the city have a secure place to receive medical care, as well as the Black Velvet nightclub for when he wants to let his wild side free and mingle. He also provides them with his knowledge of the occult, alchemy, and divination, all in exchange for being under their aegis in case any more zealous monster slayers choose to ignore the good he's trying to do and kill him outright. Of all the heroes of the city, he gets along most with Hot Spot and Frost Horn.
