The cries can be heard from all around.
All the roses have been plucked, thorns shorn clean,
Choked by evil and greed.
"They looked to me for guidance,
and I have failed them..."
She crumpled into the pool around her,
their pleas are deafening.
She looked at her own reflection, the bags made her eyes look sunken,
her pale complexion, disheveled hair.
She could see it all, how their stories end.
No happy endings, no love.
"I made us weak."
She skimmed the images of those chosen few,
Entangled in thorns,
Collared and Kept,
Fire and Brimstone,
Dying Light,
The hot tears stung her eyes,
And her cries choked out her voice.
The Idol was slain,
The harp was broken,
Her lost star, consumed by the Beast.
She looked up to the moon, shining, taunting her.
Its brilliant light did not care for mistakes, her light is forgiving,
It's calming, and it still shone on the doe.
A surge of warmth and inspiration sparked within,
Laughter can be heard as she stared open-eyed up at the sky.
"I CAN, fix this.
Who would I be if I were to leave them to suffer?
I must fix this."
As stars fell into her hands, they stuck together and formed a blade.
Covered in roses, shining like the moon. Her outfit covered in stardust had hardened in some places.
It was forming metal and gold.
She stood up and bore witness to change.
Her thin fingers ran across the smooth steel.
This would be how she fix all that is broken.
The roses would be replanted and reborn.
The thin golden string chaining the stars.
She must sever the bonds that tie them and let them be free.
"Destiny will not repeat itself."

Hi all! So this piece I spent the past month on (90hrs well spent), marks the significance in my old stories to change into something more empowering. The young maidens in stories I write now about my characters, must make their own decision, and fight for what they want. They do not have to be docile ladies, they can rage against what troubles them and make their own happy endings. And I cannot wait to write and show more.
