Honey is a supportive character in the 1941 film Mr. Bug goes to Town (aka Hoppity goes to Town or Bugville) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyB.....G530&t=43s The film was the 2nd and final film after Gulliver's Travels (1939) from Fleischer Studios, well known for their Betty Boop, Popeye and Superman cartoons of the 30's and 40's.
In the film, Honey (voice by Pauline Loth) is the love interest to both the Protagonist (Hoppity the Grasshopper) and the Antagonist (Mr. C. Bagley Beetle) the latter who tries as much as possible (through his lackeys, Swat the Fly and Smack the Mosquito) to ruin Hoppity's chances of finding a new place for the inhabitants of the Lowlands to live in safety in order to get Honey, which leads to severe consequences.
Much of the movie, is the villains who carried the plot, thus receiving the most development of the whole cast, and sadly, Hoppity can be describe as gee whiz kinda of character, with his girlfriend been a piece of cardboard - where as in the book, they have a bit of more character and are both well aware of Beetle's intentions for Honey; also, unlike other movies, the contrast of the environment was the center focus, and not the main protagonist (Hoppity nor Honey) which kinda makes him something of a guest star in his own movie.
The movie, much like its hero, had a string of non stop misfortunes to deal with from development to debut: for starters, the original idea was an animated adaptation of Life of a Bee, written by Maurice Maeterlinck, but the the author rejected it, so the Studio rewrote a new script with new Characters, which would be Mr. Bug - making it the first time Fleischer Studios en devour in something fully original, as all their cartoons were based on other IPs. Production was hand strong by the in fighting between Max & Dave Fleischer, who communicated only through memos; Paramount became aware of this and took control of their studio, forcing the Brothers to have letters of resignation beforehand.
The Studio used its in house voices and workers for the roles of the character, among them Jack Mercer (Popeye and Whimpy) voicing both Mr. Bumble and Swat the Fly; Pinto Golvig (famous for voicing Grumpy Dwarf from Disney's Snow White) voice the grumpy old Snail Mr. Jeepers Creeper; Olive Oyl voice actresses Margie Hines and Mae Questel (who also voice Betty Boop) voiced Mrs. Lady Bug and Buzz the Bee scout respectively. Ted Pierce, one of the Story Men, and reported by Chuck Jones as the inspiration for Looney Tunes skunk Pepe Le Pew, voice the antagonist Mr. Beetle. Stan Fred was the one new comer to the movie industry, with Hoppity been his starting role. The rest of the cast is rolled up by Carl Meyer (voicing Smack), Pauline Loth (Honey) Singer Kenny Gardner and Gwen Williams voicing the Human One couple (Dick and Mary Dickens) who own the property where the Bugs live in.
The Movie would be the first full length animated romantic comedy in history, and the first animated movie to give credit to its voice cast.
In a whamming that came out of left field, the movie's Debut was pushed to December 5th 1941, to avoid Dumbo which debuted on October 23rd, becoming a huge hit for Disney (the first in years), only to deal with the news of the Japanese Surprise attack on Pearl Harbor on the 7th; the subsequent public reaction of the event, made people stop going to theaters as the country's mood was wearing up for War with Japan and Germany and Mr. Bug suffered and was removed from Theaters. Years later, it was renamed Hoppity goes to Town and much later Bugville.
In what can be a piece of irony, Studio Ghibli (My Neighbor Totoro) made the movie famous in Japan, where it garner some following by Japanese animation Buffs and was distributed with the help of Disney for sometime - getting the recognition taken away by the two parties responsible for its forgotten/obscure status..

Surprised someone remembered this movie and remembered the facts about it like I do. Usually I have to type up this explanation as well as why this was the nail in the coffin for the Fleischer brothers movie making. Their first movie they tried to replicate Disney, and the golden rule is to never try to mimic another piece of work, as it ends up being bad (you still see that today with movies).
Though of course the infamous fight between the Fleischer brothers ended the studio once and for all and it ended up turning into Famous Studios. Though not enough people give the Fleischers enough credit, they could have defeated Disney and nearly did as Popeye was a bigger hit than Mickey Mouse in the 30s and they did things before Disney did, including sound in Cartoons in the silent era, though Disney did the full audio and still holds credit.
There was a big studio battle on who would make the Superman cartoons, and Disney fought the hardest to try and secure Superman, however the Fleischers got it and used the stars from the radio program to do their characters respective voices in the cartoon.
Ironically, it was in part due to the bad times on the studio and the brothers fighting that paved way for another superstar to rise, and that was Bugs Bunny. A lot of history there, just giving a basic summary for anyone else interested in knowing about the studio, this way they can just do a google search or something lol.
As for the art, certainly to your style, but was not expecting to see Honey Bee or even anyone remembering her
