Else carries Blight, which is a magical disease in this world. You body doesnt recognize your own aura, so unfortunately if she doesnt wear her bracers, Else could freeze to death. They have to be replaced every so often (the bracers dont last forever) and this time they broke when Zieg wasnt around to keep her Aura contained. She nearly succumbed but he showed up just in time.
