Whether to blow off some steam, to stay in fighting shape, or to beat the lights out of someone who thinks too much of themselves, these two mercenaries take on some fights every now and again. It was Wolf who coincidentally found Fox in the same corner of the galaxy as him, looking for a fight at the same time. Although a bit shorter and smaller than Wolf, Fox could never back down from this sort of challenge, and his sparring partner Falco was around the same size as Wolf, giving Fox the experience he needed to take on this exact kinds of match-up.
Wolf started the fight off a bit dirty, so Fox sunk his own swift spinning back kick into the gut a bit low on the belt, as a warning that he wasn't about to get pushed around. More amused than hurt, Wolf realized that he had a real fight on his hands, and was going to get to have some fun. These two sturdy fighters, eager to go toe-to-toe, are more than ready to get rough and tumble with each other. I'm rooting for Fox personally, the scrappier of the two.

I don't care who you are. You get roundhouse kicked in the gut, you're not shrugging it off. Especially from Fox. This is a really cool piece, I must say. It really shows their intense rivalry. It's something I think Wolf would almost certainly agree to, as proving himself as the stronger of the two is one of his life's great ambitions. Fox though seems to be at a marked disadvantage by at least 40 pounds though. I'm also rooting for him but this disparity in weight class is most disconcerting. I don't really understand where the idea Wolf is this hulking mass comes from and why he's so much bigger than Fox, as they're relatively close in body size in each game they're in with only height being the most noticeable difference. But yeah, great commission! The coloring and lighting is really superb. I love Fox's bright red coat and how his tail practically glows, as well as the intense burning hatred in his eyes as he kicks Wolf in the gut.
It's true that Fox is around 6-7 lbs lighter than Wolf according to the Star Fox 64 canon. I told the artist the weights, but kept things loose and gave him artistic liberty to proportion things as he liked, and I think he does in fact like Wolf a bit. I don't think the camera quite adds 40 lbs, and part of the size discrepancy can be attributed to the weird camera angle and the fact that Fox's body is turned and leaning over a little. At any rate, I'm not picky, and can easily imagine a bulkier Fox taking on Wolf.
The lighting and color choices are really one of the strongest points about this piece. If you are interested in getting a piece of your own, consider checking out his Twitter. You can ask for a sketch and make suggestions, as I found him pretty easy to work with.
