Errai, a Jeroban farmer from the deserts of Danajarba.
While I was in the mood to draw Space Jerboas, I decided to develop the one-off Jeroban farmer I drew once in late 2019/originally posted to DeviantArt in early 2020 a bit. Errai is a farmer, operating a small farm in a desert village nestled between sandstone hills and a small oasis. Like most Jeroban, he's a peaceful sort and always eager to help travelers and trade food for other resources.
(Despite the species originating with designs for a couple criminals and a warrior, the average Jeroban, be they from a desert village or one of the megacities, is quite friendly and sociable and cooperative, a result of originating on a harsh desert planet made only harsher by millenia of civilization consuming and depleting most of the natural resources available to them before space travel and colonization became feasible and then somewhat common.)
His son, Arneb, often follows him around as he tends to the gardens near the house, bouncing along and following Errai's tail, while Errai occasionally feeds Arneb tender shoots and leaves and small fruit from the various food crops.

Maybe I should use this as an excuse to draw some of the various food crops the Jeroban grow--I had one idea for a plant, something they would call a "barrel root", that would be like a giant beet or potato in appearance, with long, tall leaves aboveground that funnel water down into the root, and full of potato-like flesh and starchy water. Something like that might be bigger than little Arneb once harvested, and feed the family for quite a while.
I'm sure he's got nice hips, being a space jerboa and all, but he's also cheating by wearing baggy pants. While my chubby characters seem to stuff themselves into clothes a couple sizes too small, most of my thinner characters seem to like wearing their clothes a bit on the baggy side.
