Here's a picture of all the different Nix castes, there's a lot more than just the worker, who you've seen so far. As you might be able to tell from the image, they take a lot of inspiration from both fairy and ufo mythology.
The first creature on the left is a Spriggan. It's not actually a Nix, but a creature they turn captured human children into and used as a slave.
Next to it to the right is the Nixie, or Nix worker, arguably the most common type of Nix. Sometimes called goblins by human observers.
Next to the worker is the Pixie, similar to the worker by with a more human like face.
Behind them is the Kelpie, a horse like Nix created to be ridden, it's just as comfortable swimming as it is running on land.
And above the Kelpie is a Wisp. They're similar in appearance to Nixies, but much smaller and with glowing bodies.
The big red guy is an Orog, or the soldier caste of Nix
In front of him the small brown creature is a Trogger, a digging specialist. They cut gemstones and smelt precious metals for trade with the non-hive species.
To the right of the Trogger is a Maer, an aquatic Nix.
The tall creature to the right of the Maer is an Aishee, often mistaken for elves, or blamed for their activities in the woods.
The dragon like creature behind the Aishee is a wyrm.
Above the worm is a creature that goes by many names, Strix, Screamer, Banshee, in modern types it's known as mothman.
The last creature is a Grex, although it's also known by many names, Tuatha De Dannu, Fae royalty, in modern times it's known as a Changeling, although a proper Changeling is actually a human who has been turned into a full Nix instead of a Spriggan. This is an unusually simplified and almost naturalist form for the Grex, as they can look far more complex and regal when they want to.

Man that is Awesome, I called my insects the Berenians from planet Beren. Their made up of Co-habitant species of Insectoids, such as Moths, Beetles, Dragonflies, Grasshoppers, and Mantis. And their Home World also has Giant Kaiju insects that cultivate the Lands too :)
That was the case until an Energy Creature Called "The Usurper" came to their solar system and began consuming their planet. Infecting the inhabitants, Corrupting the Kaiju, and consuming the World's Resources to affect the Ecosystem. :D

That's a cool concept.
Mt Grex started out as genetically engineered technology, but they rebelled against their creators Skynet style. Their entire planet was destroyed in the resulting war. After their masters were gone the Grex carried on their mission of filling the universe with a multitude of varieties of life, although they interpreted that as them, the Nix and whatever ecosystems and pets they make for their garden ships.
