''Sunset Island / Forgotten Paradise'' by Lay
A relatively quick piece I did in Paint 3D. It depicts a lovely tropical island with palm trees, with the viewer getting the opportunity to watch the sunset underneath a lonely parasol that sits in the hot sand, which is dyed a beautiful orange because of said setting sun. 🌴
I was planning on giving it more detail, like adding seagull silhouettes in the distance to make this paradise seem at least ~somewhat~ inhabited. But then I came to the conclusion that sometimes, less is more. So I went with it and gave this tropical piece a rather abstract look. This gives the viewer more opportunities to fill in some blank spaces with their 🌈imaaaginaaation...🌈, but it also makes for a slightly more straight-forward and easier picture to piece together, using just painted lines and stripes and then fill up the remaining parts using simple one-color fill tools. Simple, but it works.
