I decided to draw Three again, but this time actually somewhat in her element and dressed up a bit more. She's prepped just in case she runs into another random dungeon adventurer by having her hood where she can pull it over her face quickly. The straps dangling from the front flap of the 'skirt' is so she can hitch the two bits together and hide her digitigrade legs. Her poor tail is strapped to the inside back of the skirt to hold it still. The cloth draped over her shoulders pulls up into a secondary hood to hide her earbumps and shadow her face a bit more.
Why yes, I put a lot of thought into how a critter could conceal themselves without resorting to the stereotypical swishy cloak and hood. Mind you, one might notice that her footprints are small and circular, and if you peek really close at her face you'd probably notice the fur. But she probably wouldn't let you peek really close at her face.
I've been playing a lot of old school dungeon type RPGs lately, mostly Neverwinter Nights and the series of expansion packs and sequels. I've noticed that in dungeons one spends a lot of time underground so I decided to draw her in a cavern type place with a generic glowy stone for a light source. The necklace thing dangling from her wrist is a scrollcase that contains a map. Judging by the fanciness of it, it probably belongs to some rich merchant or noble who wants her to go find someone or something in said dark caves.
The little sickle dagger was something I tossed in because dungeons are usually full of monsters and not nice things. And of course she has the massive pack to hold all of the loot, not to mention her general gear. You can see a sword peeking out, and a staff. A long stick just seems a useful thing to have. The little pack on her hip is her herb pouch.
Of course, all of that is just a generic excuse for working on this picture to practice my Paint Tool Sai work. I just couldn't bring myself to practice on a picture that didn't have some vague sort of story attached to it. Plus I'm happy that my last few pics of Three have been fairly close to my mind's eye image of her.

Never really got into KotOR. I've seen my brother play those threw with a fascinating little addiction but I was more the dungeons and dragons type. I loved the NwN DM client and multiplayer support. Shame they had to twist that up in NwN 2. Its what kept there game selling for 10+ years and still see it in stores today. Thats insane good.
Honestly, the whole NwN2 thing reminds me of the Numa Numa guy trying to recapture his glory with that second video he made when it was really just a sad sad cry to retain lost glory :P

I tried to think of what one would need on a generic dungeon crawl. A magical glowy rock seems more convenient than a torch. And being married to a survivalist/engineer type has taught me to consider what one would need to manage and survive. So I figure weapons, a big useful stick, and her pack probably has a small bedroll and rope and provisions. Not to mention spare room for the multitude of items that monsters seem to drop. (Why does a wolf have two hundred gold pieces?)
The herb pouch is medicinal as well as 'recreational'. ;) I figure she gets paired off or grouped up with the occasional random annoying critter or hero enough times that sometimes she needs to go off into a corner and smoke something to calm her nerves.
This is what years of RPGs have done to me!

I can't really say much for it in comparison as I've only been using it for a little over a week. But I do enjoy some of the tools Sai has. I really love the water effect tool as well as the option to add paper textures or tweak your art tools to reflect different mediums.
Now that digital coloring has finally clicked it's a lot easier. I only realized recently that I had been making the work far too hard for myself.
Mind you, the art is still drawn with pen and ink and scanned in. I'm not brave enough to draw digitally yet.

I loooooooooooooooooooooooooooove clothing detail, I am such a sucker for clothing you have no idea! It's all so intricate and I love the touch of the many crosses hanging from her neck.
Also given the general bagginess of the sleeves the style of the sword, the hood and the gauntlet on her right (my right) hand I would say she is in an Arabian desert type setting.
Lovely picture.
