I did do a bit of restoration on this one; the blade itself was all but rusted out and dull (and has probably been that way since the 1950s tbh) and the scabbard which is two pieces of bamboo was being held together with chicken wire, so I replaced it with leather straps which I scavved from a woven belt. This I think is my personal favorite knife in my collection simply because its got some interesting history. My grandpa was a Navy gunner during WWII in the pacific campaign; he told me he got this knife from a New Zealander who he said built it all by hand.
