Frederic Edwin Church is one of my favorite painters, and I see one of his pieces! Lovely takes on them!

Three Church paintings are here! I don't know why, I didn't see it before, he was not among my favorites, but after finding more of his work and after studying it... now I think he really was one of the best.

These are all beautiful. Baffles me you plan on doing one a day for three months.

Last year I did 10 weeks without skipping a day but I sometimes split a study in 2 parts. Now I feel more comfortable doing this, so I can do one study in under 2 hours. I hope I make it all the way to a 100.

As long as you don't run out of environment ideas or inspirations, it sounds like it should be manageable.

I keep discovering new artists so I should be fine with the study sources. But next time, I'll just do a 100, or 200, days of studying everything, paintings, photos, objects, textures...

Reminds me a lot of some happy little trees here-and-there, if you get me. Just really high-quality. Love these studies! It'll probably get very challenging down the line but don't give in!

I love how you control textures. I struggle a LOT on master copies to get the texture right, it oftens feels so polished it feels plastic asgdfahsgd

I find that brushwork, rendering of textures and materials is the hardest thing to learn. I think the struggle is a part of it, I struggle too, believe me. We just gotta throw wok hours at that problem until one day, it's kinda solved.
As for these studies, due to the complexity, I am comfortable at around 2 hours of work. That's enough to capture the essence of what makes the painting good without going too deep into rendering.
