Aww... heh, it sure is something to think about. Mortality, staying this way, or becoming something else. Well either way, as long as they are happy together, either shouldn't be too bad.. as much as eventual death isn't usually the 'happiest' thing to occur, but well, unless someone cuts it short they do have at least a bit of it ahead of them.
