In cooperation with pal Umbreow, we set out to create our own stable, calling it Stable 47.
This is one of its inhabitants, Punchline aka Punch, a kirin assigned as Security for his bulk. He rather just make comics and art, but rules are rules, gotta save that for his time off.
A gentle giant, though not afraid to kick in a door when needed, he rather find peaceful solutions. Unaware of how broken the system of Stable 47 is, until forced to face the issues it has caused for many of the less fortunate within that stable.
Stable 47's experiment was that those gaining tickets to it all had a business background. From trading, small business to large cooperations. Anyone with a sense of building wealth one way or another.
Then stick them together in a Stable and tell them they cannot bring their riches or business stocks with them. There is no currency within the Stable walls, no business to run, they are all equals with nothing to lord over each other.
This could not stand, so the more crafty Stable Dwellers approached the AI assigned to rule the Stable and managed to convince it to code in a system of digital currency named Value.
And thus began a system of numbers assigning certain Value to different ponies depending on the goods they had at hoof within the Stable walls and what services they could offer. Creating a class system determined by their Value numbers, always displayed on the pickbuck or on screens on the walls all over the Stable to ensure nopony dared to lie about their given Value number to fix a trade. One can transfer Value between each other in trades, and hope to earn enough to move up in the hierarchy. Leaving the less crafty ones behind in the lower levels to survive on the given rations and what little else they can pile together to offer to others for Value.
