An oddity with the Glex'ian alien species might be how their digestion works.
Their body takes fully advantage of everything they eat (at least what they can stomach as their diet is strictly raw meat). They eat everything of their prey, and digest every bit.
The body only makes limited waste that is concentrate compressed and capsuled until it can be returned to nature.
Other aliens may have observed this looking like shiny pearls, but do not be fooled. The outer shell might be shiny but it is fragile and breaks under enough pressure, like held too hard in a fist. And the pure concentrate of waste will haunt you to rest of your days by the smell alone.
Probably why Glex'ians are not impressed by anything shiny, nor believing such to be valuable. Seeing jewelry with gems and pearls worn by other creatures make them question those societies as a whole, but usually stay polite and keep their mouths shut.
