I'd assume that's just because the vast majority of protagonists/main characters (at least in mainstream western media) are male; The majority of scenes where someone gets eaten also have a male animal or monster as the pred.
Although I also dunno if I'd say most vorarephiles want female prey; People like all kinds of dynamics. Lots of people are into the scenario of women eating their husbands/boyfriends/crushes/etc, and things of that nature.
