Been working on this one on and off since the summer. Steals some ideas from a couple scrapped projects I did a while back (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/31403608/). I'll be posting the first 3 parts tonight and then posting one part a day for the rest (Drawings are done just need to finish the writing part)

Part 1

Kai blinked hazily squinting at the bright overhead light filling the room with a harsh cold light.

"Looks like integration has finally finished successfully" Bruce said, the brown bear continuing to look at his computer, "Power up sequence successful, looks like you're ready to go"

"That was fast," Kai said looking at her hands before continuing her inspection to the rest of her body.

"Ha," the Bear laughed, shaking his head "For you maybe but i've been working on you for over 36 hours. You should normally feel weak after being under that long, Do you feel anything like that?"

"No?" Kai said moving her arm around experimentally "I don't really feel anything. Honestly, I feel like I'm weightless."

"I guess that means it's working then." Bruce said, looking at a stream of live readouts on his screen.

"What do you mean 'You guess' You better not have messed anything up" Kai said standing from the table.

"No, no This stuff is the real deal and I did a good job as always but its experimental military tech I don't exactly know how it's supposed to feel or anything" He said with a shrug

"And you're sure no one will miss this gear? As someone who 'reacquires' stolen tech for a living I don't want to end up on the wrong side of one of the big contractors"

"A little late to be worried about that" Bruce laughed "But trust me it's all good no one is looking for this. Now then," The bear said standing "Let's test it out, I'll find something for you to punch"

"The Kinetic field it projects should protect your hand so really let it have it" Bruce said, taking cover behind his desk. “The code for the kinetic field was missing so I had to get that part working myself, pretty proud of that one.”

A steel I-beam stood in front of Kai, she stretched back before striking the beam with her full force. For a split second a yellow flash popped into existence around her fist before the beam folded in half being launched across the room impaling itself in the wall.

"Whoa..." Kai said in disbelief

"Fucking hell! " Bruce let out. "Great, now I'm going to have to fix that... I might have underestimated the power of this thing."

"We agreed to 30,000 cred" Kai said smiling at her fist as she flexed her hand "No backing out on me because you didn't know what you had."

Bruce rolled his eyes "The kinetic barrier should also be able to shrug off gun shots too, just be careful about energy weapons they will take down your augments temporarily."

"I feel like that part is way more useful than a shield for my fist" Kai said.

"If you ran too hard you would break your feet and legs without the kinetic barrier. So, I would say protecting you from yourself is the most important part." the bear said, wiping bits of the wall off his table. "If you're ready to test it out some more I have A job lined up for you."

"Fuck yeah" Kai said with a grin.
