I guess I'll start from the beginning
It was a warm summer afternoon, a lazy summer afternoon. The kind where even the flies couldn't be bothered to move no matter how many times you swatted them. Pesky little shits. Anyway that's the kind of day I met her.
That morning it was my job to bring in more food for the clan. I'm not sure why, there was plenty to eat, but I guess it's better safe then sorry. Before midday had even arrived I had already caught a couple of rabbits and a sparrow. Believing that my work was done, I decided to head off on a little walk for some well deserved "me time". Normally I would've hung out with my friends but one way or another everyone was unavailable. My best friend, Thistlepelt, the clan medicinecat, was busy treating a few apprentices. Apparently they had gotten into a little fight with a porcupine. Thistle'll have his paws full all day. Pidgeontoe still hadn't come back from his hunting trip. And I had no clue where Robinflame went off to. So I was alone.
My little walk soon turned into a long trek across the fields. Before I knew it, I was no longer in Windclan territory but near a twoleg place. Er, that's what they call them, I'm still not used to the whole forrest cat lingo. A human neighborhood there! Easy.
I came up to a wooden fence and decided to rest in its shade. But not two seconds later was I suddenly hit from above and knocked over on my back. I looked up in a frantic daze to see my assailant. A female tortoiseshell, amber eyed, about the same age as me (from what I could guess), and of course bigger than me. Everyone is bigger than me. She had me pinned to the grass, one paw pressed into my chest. No doubt she could feel the pounding of my heart. My heartbeat felt like the anxious flapping of the wings of a trapped bird. A bird trapped under her claws.
I mentally cursed myself for being so careless and I cursed my crippled leg for making it so easy for me to be disarmed.
"Hmpf. This is the first time one has came from behind the fence" she spoke. "Now tell me why you're here" her amber eyes then narrowed as she leaned in closer, and squeezed my chest. "And don't lie- I'll know".
She was intensely observing the beating of my heart. If I lie she'll know, and she'll no doubt turn me into nothing but a pile of blonde fuzz. Well no harm in telling the truth.
"I-I was going for a walk", I said. Then I realized just how lousy that sounded. A male just so happens to wander onto a female's territory? Fat chance of that little coincidence.
Evidently she thought this sounded like a lousy excuse too. She pressed her claws into my chest, no doubt drawing blood. Then she squeezed. It felt like her claws were wrapped around my heart and for a brief moment a morbid image crossed my mind. Her, ripping out my heart and cruelly holding it out for me see the last few beats. My pale yellow and white fur stained with blood. I gotta think fast to convince her.
"Liar" she hissed.
"N nn no really" I breathed "I came from over there, over in the forest. It was an honest mistake!"
She looked at my chest (paw still over my heart) then slowly looked me in the face. Her eyes softened and she released her claws from my chest.
"I'm sorry, this really was an honest mistake. I didn't want to hurt you but I just can't be too careful". She seemed pretty remorseful of her actions. "I thought you were another horny male trying to get me to mate".
"It's no problem, I see your reasoning" I said while struggling to get back on my feet. She quickly came to my side and helped lift me off the ground. I blushed a bit at the close contact.
"So you're from the forest? " she asked. "I've heard of cats living out there but I've never met one before".
"Actually I'm originally from here but I was taken in...
It was almost nightfall by the time I made it back home. Thistlepelt was frantically looking me over.
"What happened? Where were you? We were looking everywhere!". He noticed the puncture marks and bits of dried blood on my chest.
"Did you get into a fight?"
"Something like that" I muttered. I was too lost in my head to give much of an answer.
He cleaned of the site of the wounds before placing his ear to my chest.
"A little elevated but you should be fine" he concluded. I then left in search of a good spot to rest.
And that's how it happened. And know I shouldn't but I can't stop thinking about her. I'm thinking maybe I should see her when I get the free time. Afterall, it's been a few days so I should probably check up on her. See if she's ok.
And maybe she really did take my heart out that day.
Congratulations you made it to the end! Sorry about all of that but I suddenly found myself in the mood to write. This is of my warrior cats oc, Dawnspirit. I've shown him before but deleted all of my previous works of him. So here he is again with a slightly updated look.
I decided to make a gif because software limitations had prevented me from doing one for a while and I've been wanting to animate. Sorry for the bit of blurriness.
Enjoy <3
