Based on Aesop’s Fable of the same name. I started this two years ago for Anthrocon’s theme “Aesop’s Fable” but the pandemic started just after I started it so I put it aside until this past month and finished it! Super happy with it :3

I can't get over your illustrations; so much thought and detail go in to every element of the backgrounds- the gorgeous stone fireplace, the market scene in the back, and even the lovely "lived in touches" of the nails, and flower vase on the mantel.
The character's faces are also incredibly expressive, and all the thought in to the garments... just stunning.
I'll also add that i adore the squirrel; the gesture and expression really does feel as if the scene is animated, and the squirrel's task is being tended to. It's not a "pose" piece that you often get from illustrators, but a good scenes of "mise en scene" you get from a film maker.
