[Insert witty Skaven-themed Team Fortress 2 references here]
I while back I wanted to do something unique for a custom ratling gun team conversion using parts left over from other projects (particularly some stormfiends), and after a bit of browsing for ideas I hit upon this image. The idea of building up a "Heavy weapons rat" as a one-rat ratling gun team was too good to pass up.
The challenging bit was figuring out what I should use as a base for this conversion. Stormvermin were too small, while rat ogres were too big (and pretty fugly in their Mordheim-era kit), and I wanted something in between.
Cue the kitbash-loving faction having just the kit I needed to start with: Ork Flash Gitz.
The torso, arms and weapon receiver are from the Flash Gitz kit, the head from a stormvermin kit, lower legs and tail from a Rat Ogre kit, and the ratling gun barrels lett over from a Stormfiend kit (the rail and muzzle are from a spare assault cannon).
I've been having a blast with this particular conversion so far. Not only do I end up with a model to represent a ratling gun team, but also a "stig-shambler" for my Skaven-themed "Cawdor" gang (the ratling gun counting as a twin-linked heavy stubber).

Yeah, my brain went to TF2 pretty quickly here, then it went to "why didn't I do something like this for my Skaviir Dominion army?" This is excellent! Didn't know the Rat Ogre legs would mesh so well with the Flash Gitz torsos! I'll have to remember that trick for future conversions. :)
Some side-cutting was required, admittedly, which I did above the knee for a proper join (also makes this guy look like he's in a vest and shorts with a bit of a loin cloth as well). Flash Git "torsos" consist of a front and rear piece that includes the legs, so apart from arms they're pretty monopose. I also fortunately had need of the rest of a Rat Ogre kit for other things, otherwise I'd recommend scouring for their legs by other means.
I was also doing my best to ensure that this model was able to make use of a 40mm base, though it's quite feasible for your conversions that you might consider making weapons "teams" on the normal 60mm (the "lasgun" can be a laser sight LOL), or using normal Ork Nobs for "rat ogryn" conversions.
