The Thing in the Sky had alarmed the leaders of the Medley, so they turned to their leader, Max Dehoby, who quickly called a council of his most trusted advisers.
What was it? No one had ever seen such a thing.
What should they do? It hadn't shown itself any threat as of yet.
His wizards, scholars, and generals discussed and argued and he heeded their every word. For in the end, he knew the final decision was up to him.
The Mur of his Medley were looking to him as word spread far and wide. And the other nations were pressing him, demanding answers and permissions. He would be strong and wise in the face of this challenge.
After several hours, the decision was made.

If you would like some constructive criticism,
I personally would emphasice the weight thats on his decicion, like what may he loose if he fails?
Will the kingdom be in disarray? Will his best ppl loose confidence?
Whats at stake?
But thats only me personally, your story has a more lightweight and lighthearted tone than mine, so please don't let me talk you into something that is not your way of doing something ^~^

XD, this actually a concept backstory for a book I already published. Just making excuses to practice drawing. More can be explained later, but I'm really just writing this off the cuff.
And dont worry, you can't improve without criticism. The fact people take time to comment means it made some impact.
