"If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind ?"
- Percy Bysshe Shelley, Ode to the West Wind
On the first WIP of this Rebby suggested an anime style...so i thought i would try to dress her in a kimono (i know, no giant robots or kaiju - how disappointing) and (next version) maybe give her a parasol and some old-style Japanese hair ornaments ...
Upon enlarging the canvas the chocho (butterfly) now looked too close to her face, so moved it which was tricky as it and the textured background and lighting fx were all on one level ... i might try to fix that more betterer and replace this post...

i think this WIP has gone as far as it can - to do a proper old school colour manga style illo i'm going to print it out at 11 x 17 in and do a tight pencil version adding the parasol (with that halo light behind it, showing through - picture composition will be broader) - and a tighter floral design on the kimono - i'm thinking of Autumn Japanese maple leaves - but if you'd prefer a sakura or peacock feather pattern or whatever just let me know as i won't be starting the new version for a week or so. ( i also want to make the arm and sleeve placement clearer - to show that the arms were crossed, palms at the elbows, and this little butterfly comes along unexpectedly and you reach out to it. Question : do you want 'snake bite' piercings or any earings? i was thinking of those Chinese/Japanese willow leaf style hair ornaments : https://i.pinimg.com/originals/50/5.....d7f0d7614a.jpg --- https://i.pinimg.com/originals/32/d.....eb7c58179a.jpg etc (different colour scheme). And it's always an honour and pleasure to draw your panda sona ! ^_^
