The ancestor, C-45 II, was based off from the ancient yet live C-45 with self-aware AI, were not 100% safe from straying or even revolting due to the potent independent will.
The AI Crisis of the past had taught lessons to Technonia that one cannot allow the artificial intelligence an independent will. But that couldn't stop Technonia from building unmanned equipments.
Now the C-45 III has been introduced but with AR control methods. The soldiers can now risk not their lives to execute and partake in critical operations. However, it's still not being widely supplied for somewhat reason only the ADPI knows.
While the AR controls do virtual yet important roles, the pilots can also take rests while having self-defense idling protocols active. However, the downside of this being the combat efficiency shall be limited because ADPI refrains from having their cutting-edge technologies and intels accidentally being jacked and unable to be retrieved--as the major field of C-45 III is where the forces can't reach easily'--thus the high-tech RAIS (Restricted Artificial Intelligence System) isn't implemented.
Controlling aspects asides, the C-45 III itself is also improved to both stand bipedal and quadrupled thanks to the precise engineering since the prototype stage. The user can switch between either modes depending on situations to operate under efficiency.
Not only that, due to the unit itself being mechanical at the end of the day, every single components can be switched or attached to fit better roles for certain conditions. This allows for a wider range of selection on equipments and abilities compared to a conventional infantry loadout, as the conventional infantry have a fixed 'component'--the operator's physical body.
However, that doesn't mean the whole unit has to be solid steel. Thanks to the old research on CMP's ballistic hide technology, the unit's exterior is mostly composed of military grade artificial hide that can't only take impact from small firearms and debris, but is also fairly flexible, allowing for a slightly better damage reduction.
As per the initial plans from the prototype stage, it's hinted that the unit is also wearable, working as an exosuit. But that may need another internal construction than the modular trait of the unit.

Rumors say that the prototype have been leaked thus the copycat could be found occasionally. Military officials are keeping their mouth shut, and the ADPI states that any other models not officially announced via ADPI themselves must be reported to them.
Perhaps some sort of industrial spying took place? Such an incident would be effectively broadcasting the fact even the ADPI, the dominant corporation of whole Technonia, has flaws on their own securities. This could be a bad omen to the people as Technonia is clearly facing great external threats like Mechania, the renegade AI civilization, and Magicania, the eternal enemy of Technonia.
