You probably already read it somewhere if you're in the YVVO species for a while, but Bothea is a layered planet. This cartoony slice show it!
On the highest levels, the "surface," the sky is visible. Many Yevatem live at the surface, as long as they're careful not to fall into caves. The weather is hot and luminous. Trees and plants of Bothea all can have really long roots to reach sources of water; roots can sometimes be several miles long! Althought it's not shown here, there can be higher lakes as well. In the lower levels, a fungi and flora's natural bioluminescence highlights the caves. There is also the sea level. Frequently, Bothea will "breathe" with mini earthquakes, water sources and water volcanoes, and/or releasing humidity on the surface, so the athmosphere isn't always dry and it can rain. And on the deepest levels, where it's so cold that water can turn into ice, you can find Oyevat ruins. These are almost all too damaged to do anything of it, and are invaded by a strange blue crystal.
