Desiya Desiya maybe I'm half craziya
All for the love of yoooouuuuuu
okay so basically Desdemona's deal is that she's a radioactive vampire.
she lives in a research hospital in Russia in her own lead-lined room, half as an inpatient and half as a prisoner.
I haven't quite decided on the specifics of her backstory, but she probably had something to do with Chernobyl, either as a worker caught in the meltdown and turned somewhere along the line, or a guinea pig sent in as part of a supernatural-immortal-undead-creature cleanup crew.
in hindsight a lot of her character focuses on isolation and self-hatred/disgust like so many other angsty emo “im such a monster boo hoo” vampire characters except she's a lesbian so she's already more interesting pbbthtbhtbthtbhb
she's fed blood bags and fresh cadavers often enough that she doesnt die of starvation, but she really doesnt like eating and avoids it as much as possible
in return for being kept safe and fed she submits herself to tests and experiments that probably definitely would not be ethical to perform on a living human being.
the radiation has left her as something thats not quite even really a vampire anymore and she's got a few physical quirks that regular vampires don't: like her tear ducts and salivary glands oozing blood, and her bones glowing underneath her skin and muscle when she's exposed to any kind of radiation (atom-splitting or otherwise)
i dont actually have a very strong character for her because i dont have anyone for her to interact with. maybe a nurse at the hospital who she sees on a regular basis? or another supernatural being from her cleanup team? or even someone who was there during the meltdown with her? someone else who ended up undead, or maybe even the vampire that turned her because they got there just a little to late to do anything else? They could even be the same vampire that turned Foelkar to save him from his hemophilia. This irresponsible hero-complex vampire actually sounds like an interesting character now too...
