As my week-long trip nears its end. I decided to go and check out the other river from the other day but from the other direction instead and see what I could find there.

The last time I came to this river, I had seen some interesting otter-like animals but this time I figure I would go the other way and soon enough. I almost immediately spot something up ahead. So, once again. I would go and find a spot as not to scare off. And after taking my place and pulled out my sketchbook. I waited to see what it would do. Slowly the animal would walk up to the riverside nearby and then sat there... staring at the water. "Knowing" that it might do something. I kept waiting... and waiting... and waiting...

After about 10 mins, it was still there, just looking at the river. For a short time, I almost fell asleep as it seemed to take so long in doing anything. Maybe it was waiting for the right time to get a fish... But still nothing. Even after about 10 more minutes had passed. I began to think that maybe it fell asleep itself. But no, I could see its eyes slowly looking back and forth. Im beginning to think it was there to sit and relax.

Not wanting to spend too much time since I need to get ready to pack up my things. I just went ahead and sketched it down. But as I was about to leave. I heard something quickly hit the water. Thinking that maybe the animal fell into it, I quickly turned around just to see that it was still sitting there but it now had a fish in front of it on the ground. Apparently that despite it moving slowly earlier, it can strike at something pretty fast. Too bad I wasn't able to see it in action. And since it was time to leave, and picked up my stuff once again and headed back. Need to get some rest for my last trip of the week here before I have to go.
