Slime-Based All-Environment Exosuit
Trial # 5 ; Subject #11108
Intention: Creation of a breathable, high-density, compact environmental exosuit that encompasses the entirety of the wearer to protect from environmental harm, such as temperature extremes, impacts, and any microorganism-borne infection, as well as increasing the strength of the wearer exponentially; resistance, though not immunity, is intended, as the slimes will likely need to be altered further after this trial.
Result: Failure
Procedure:
- Implant Subject #11108 with superficial Psionic Link Patch, and tune to Subject's brain waves
- Introduce psionic-receptive Slime Culture #23 into chamber with Subject
- Direct Subject to "command" dispensed slime to form to body
- Once successfully formed, observe and test limits of the exosuit
Timeline:
0:00:00
Experiment Begins
0:01:22
Psionic-Link Patch was applied to the epidermis of subject, specifically the back of the neck at the nape.
0:04:42
Psionic-Link Patch is properly tuned to subject's brain waves.
0:05:02
A small sample of Slime Culture #23 is introduced into the chamber.
0:05:32
Subject voices confusion at the lack of action from the slime.
0:05:53
In an attempt to increase the "collective intelligence" of the slime, an extra small sample was introduced, congealing into one individual.
0:06:00
Subject repeats that there is no reaction from the slime.
0:06:08
An attempt to remotely re-calibrate the Psionic-Link Patch causes a dispensing aperture to open prematurely, releasing a very large amount of slime, approximately 67% of the entire culture. The slime then congeals into one individual as the dispensing apertures initiate a failsafe and are closed, and the experiment is aborted.
0:06:13
Subject has backed away from the culture in an attempt to reach the extraction point of the chamber. The slime takes notice and becomes mobile; This is unusual for cultures, sentience is not something bred for.
0:06:21
The slime has ensnared the subject within itself.
0:06:27
The subject attempts to wrestle free, but is interrupted when the slime begins entering the subjects mouth, down to the stomach.
0:07:34
Over the course of approximately a minute, the subject's stomach region has expanded considerably. The subject attempts to reach for the slime, but is restrained.
0:09:22
After two minutes, the subject's stomach has swelled massively. The subject again, attempts to wrestle back control to keep the slime from continuing, but is again restrained. The slime increases the rate it is entering the subject's stomach.
0:13:53
After approximately four minutes, all of the slime has entered the body of the subject; the midsection, chest, rear, legs, and arms have been bloated with slime, completely immobilizing the subject.
12:23:43
After closer investigation, the slime appears to cause a slower metabolism within the stomach of the subject, postponing hypothesized extraction time six-fold due to slower digestion.
All movements of the subject cause a large amount of bouncing. The assistant kobolds love playing on it.
The subject, surprisingly capable of speech, noted he enjoyed the taste of the slime, and curiously asked if there was any more. The suit may have been a failure, but we might have a new, efficient, organic slime disposal tank!
Conclusion: Failure, but with useful byproducts
