Instrumental version of a track I have yet to finish the lyrics for. I think it's pretty mellow and hypnotic, so enjoy.
The theme of the title (and eventual lyrics) are basically saying that money and status changes everything. You can go to school with the same people for years and have more or less the same life as them, but when you get out, life is governed largely by what jobs/qualifications/connections you have and you can no longer relate to them.
Being poor is a situation where you're sure something good is going to happen in the future but you have no knowledge of how to get there. But if you can't work your way up fast enough, you find yourself in this weird position where you have age and maturity but not the career to show for it. So people think there's something wrong with you when there actually isn't. It more or less has to do with who bothers taking a chance on you. My legacy will always be my music, because that's the part of my life I can control. I'm only in competition with myself.
