Flying - it's a form of therapy for Izdrath - when he is upset, angry, frusterated, or any sort of negative emotion, he takes to the air to calm himself. There is nothing like the feel of the night breeze rushing through his hair - nothing like the still silence of the night air, the only sound being the stead beat of your own wings, the rush of the wind past your ears, and the beating if your heart....
Serene, peaceful - and joyous.
Figured since I did a depressed pic of Iz might as well do a happy one 8D He behaved surprisingly well for this - maybe he's finally pleased with my artistic ability? Stubborn Dark Elf...>.>....

Anyway here is the product of a day and a night of hard labor XD
I did the sketch a couple days ago and the basic color, and set it aside to work on some other things - and finished the coloring ... Worked on it from the time I got up, until now... taking a break only to eat. And even then I ate really fast and got back to work.
Not even SURE how many hours I have put into this but...
I have to say I am IMMENSELY proud of this!
(The direction the light is coming from could have been better but bah whatever, I didn't want to reshade the whole thing so... there's some mysterious light lighting him up *cough*)
 chrishankhah was a big help with getting his face shading done right - she even sent me an example, which I used as reference when getting his nose to look less aweful hehehe
His wings were hours of work - trying to get the lighting and effect I see in my mind... I must say I LOVE THEM! <3 <3 <3 I think I got the effect I've always seen in my mind - irridescent and beautiful. I think I might have overworked them a little - and some detail was lost when I adjusted the color and saturation. (I decided to save the version that wasn't darkened or messed with - the detail looks much better and more clear XD)
If it looks a little dark on your screen... sorry, it looks fine on mine lmao...

I am REALLY pleased with this picture... The background isn't that great but I suck at backgrounds XD
Mostly star brushes and a few filters and rendered clouds.... If anybody is interested in the background alone I might post it on my scraps or something.....
