Wow. It happened to me again.
Upon opening my FA page, I discovered another wave of watches, comments, shouts and
notes had crested and broken over the Dogbomb's head.
I rubbed my eyes and looked anew. How does this keep occuring? And why?
The banner is such an honor. Really. I'm overwhelmed.
I still can't imagine why I'm worthy of the attention, but it's so wonderful to be noticed.
Once again, it's gunna take me a week to read everything, and I'm sure that I missed
a bunch of shouts as they slid off my page.
I'm so sorry if I don't respond in a timely fashion to something that you sent.
I'll read everything, though. Every note is a gem. Every single one makes me happy.
Thank you so much to everyone for all the wonderful support.
My ol' dog heart beats faster because of you.
PLEASE don't respond to this submission with a comment saying how wonderful I am.
This really is about all of you and how wonderful you all are...
and how truly magnificent this fandom can be

Okay...I won't say how wonderful you are, specifically, then :). But you do embody what IS wonderful about the fandom as a whole, and bring it to people, affect them profoundly. Even just being able to bring a smile to someone's face...could change the course of history. Likely has. Butterfly effect.
I can tell you why you get all the attention and put it to great detail but since you didnt want me to do it (and I already put some of it in that journal that you also posted X3) but I am just going to leave it at this, your one of those furs that, just by being you (aka being funny, kind, and awesome X3), can make the whole fandom be awesome and want more people to join too in hopes of meeting and becoming friends with such people.
..blarg, that was kinda much wasn't it? sorry ><

Well, I dunno what else to say... XP
Although, I see your point. Without all these gushing fans of yours (and I do mean that in the most positive sense, of course) I don't think you would garner the respect you get. However, then again, your good attitude towards things, your memorable stories, and whatnot are what draw us to you and cause us to give you the props and spread the word about you in the first place.
Whatever it is I was trying to say here... well... I dunno. ><
Fursuit on, my good doggie. ^.=.^

Cheaking out the cute doggies I see... Your right buddy, there is alot of furries/people that are truely awesome, Some of that don't even get noted because they can't draw, don't have a nice suit.. but there wonderful. So many don't even know how great they can be, Or that said how great life can be.. If they just got out there and take it.
BUUUUUUT you AR-- Okay, I won't say what you don't want me to say then.
But I will say, Dogbomb, that you are what the fandom needs, and you represent all the good that comes in the fandom. From bringing a smile to a unsuspecting tourist or beach goer, to bar patron, and even to courageous people like Sarah, you embody the furry spirit and the way you tell you stories just adds to everything. You're vvery articulate and you know just what to say, and how to say it, and you help in great volumes even when you don't realize it.
You may be modest in saying that is isn't you that inspires, but rather you draw inspiration from others. I'm afraid I just can't agree with you. YOU sir inspired me and helped me along the path to become a full fledged Fursuiter, and I can't be happier that I took your advice and encouragement and dove in. Without having known of you or becoming a suiter to even try and suit with you at this past AnthroCon, I would likely never have met Teh\Desoto, and would never have had a chance to suit with him in Columbus, and have him coach me and encourage me to be a better, more resilient suiter.
You have received the recognition you have because of who you are and how you present your stories, and that your messages are very uplifting, and your insight and wisdom to many situations helps to change the view of others. At least, that's how i feel at times. From your story of the little girl believing you are real for a few minutes, to the courageous four-wheeled Sarah and her message that spoke to you, your way of looking at things really makes me, and I'm sure many others, feel a little bit better about ourselves, and a lot happier.
It's gotten to the point, yes, where you may not be able to respond to all of your comments, or thank all of your watchers, or even catch all of the shouts that wash over your profile page, but it just shows how many people you've inspired or reached over these last 6 months or so since you started gaining recognition. I understand, as a fan and a friend, that you cannot possibly answer every single comment without devoting serious time to it, that it may be reaching the point where you can only reply to the first handful of posts. But it doesn't mean that you are not appreciative of every single one.
I would hope that there is not a furry out there that could possibly expect you to, but I know I may be wrong. But just know, no matter the outcome, you DO deserve the credit, because you are the voice. Yes, as an individual furry I may inspire you, but you know how to put my inspiration into words. This ma y be about us, but it is no more about us than it is about you, my friend. I wish i could say the whole community could unite under one banner, but just like humans, furries have very diverging opinions to.
If we ever had to elect a representative, as a public figure, to represent the International Furry Association to the world, to the general population, you can be I'd be the second person to vote for you. Teh would beat me to first. :3
You're too modest my friend, please accept the community's gratitude and thanks, because without our Dogbomb, furries like myself who you've encouraged in so many ways, just wouldn't be the same... *great big wuffle hug*

Good sir, you've had a wave due to the simple fact that you actually represent what a furry should be. And you do it well. You are evidence that not all furrys are bad. that all of us are not freaks, and that you can make it seem fun, respected, and not frowned on by so many.
Your a damn hero man, that and you give back to the community, both FA, and your local community. Who else can say that? Not many. Keep being an inspiration to us.

Face it dog, you've had the bad luck to become a role model. People would much rather praise you than emulate you; praise is easy. Trying to live up to a good example is hard! Otherwise there'd be Dogbombs and Furps and who knows who-else all over Furry and we'd never have to worry about bad press. You're getting praise now; when this doesn't assuage our bad consciences, the drama will start. My advice is to lay low for a while. And you might think about taking down that "Courage On Two Wheels" submission from your gallery, since it's what this is all about. Let some other poor schmuck prick people's consciences and face their eventual wrath!
As for the rest of you, less talk more trousers! What have you done lately to make Furry seem like less like a bunch of wankers in animal pajamas and more like something worth having in the world? Have you cuddled a sick child in hospital? (Do you know what you need to do legally to make it safe for you to do that?) Have you taken a first aid course so you can help somebody in trouble? Given blood? Walked/run/biked/swam or done something goofy to raise money for a charity? Visited an old folks home and done some kind of skit or sung a song or something to amuse them for a little while? (
bucktowntiger isn't the only one who plays an instrument in fursuit!) Volunteered your drawing/writing/sewing/etc skills to some local good cause or other? Written a couple of letters for Amnesty International? Have you ever done something nice or helpful for another Furry fan? Joined
anti-dramallamamovement even if you never once looked at their journal posts? Dogbomb here did practically nothing, just stood around and held hands with a lady in a wheelchair for a few minutes. Yeah it was a big deal for her, but it cost him what, twenty minutes of his life? And no particular effort at all!
Instead of inflicting all this praise on Dogbomb here, go out and do One Good Thing! Give blood; help a little, old lady across the street; hold the door for a mother with a baby carriage; tip a waiter, anything! Do it in fursuit if you have one, or a furry tee, or ears and tail... or without. Just do one good thing. Then you'll be as good as Dogbomb. Okay?

Bravo.
Thank you for this amazing comment.
I agree that we (myself included) all need to take the time to do
ONE GOOD THING.
Because that's where it starts. You quickly get hooked. One thing becomes two
and two becomes ten thousand. And it's easy! Being kind is easy....
I've posted journals and submissions about volunteering, giving blood, tolerance,
respect, recycling and being kind to your neighbor.
I am uncomfortable in the postion of "role model", but I'll try to act the part if
it inspires even one person to do something positive.
So thank you, my friend. Your kind words have made me very happy. It's all worth it.

No wonder dogbomb manages to end up in so many wacky adventures. He looks through those beach scope thingamabobs (which for some reason have the aiming things for guns on top 0_0), sees something interesting happening, drink some beer which starts the theme song that happens when Popeye eats spinach and charges towards it
That's not what I meant to say
What I meant to say was that you're a really cool dude Dogbomb. And when I go to Cali in January, though the chances are slim, I'm kinda hoping that I'll get to hug a giant dog. Cause I think that would really, really make my life better. Keep on rocking it hun, your fans, your friends, we still love and admire you

A mere tidal wave isn't enough my friend, you deserve an entire tsunami! The things you have done for others, your community, our canine friends and the fandom far outweigh anything that can be expressed with mere tidal wave of words. Mother Laika would proud of all you have accomplished. I am so proud to be part of a fandom that includes someone as dedicated and loving as you are.
I have often said that the world needs so much more love in it. One of the reasons I am part of the fandom is because for the most part, it encompass an often unspoken philosophy of love, loyalty and acceptance. Much like our canine counterparts. You not only partake in this philosophy but live it every day when doing your job, spending time with family and free time with the fandom.
It is amazing how much it moves me when ever I see you in suit and am reminded about your tribute to Roger.
Stay furry my friend.
*hugs*
