Princess and Master get a visitor from the oft-discussed Mage's Guild. Guess it was only a matter of time before they got the attention of someone, huh? Master's never had anyone else to compare himself to, so he never would've guessed he was something of a natural talent, probably thanks to his coming at it with a different mindset than most. Perhaps it's time to actually make the trip, and find out what this Guild business is all about? This chapter was going to be about their visit, but it turns out there was a lot of stuff happening before they could even get there. Some conversations that probably needed to be had, too.
This one was a little delayed because it ended up being another Long One, at 9367 words (or about 14.5 pages). Not quite as long as Part 3, but close. Hopefully it doesn't trudge along too slowly for people, but as the number of people who've met the duo grows, so does the chances for them to have more interactions and flesh themselves out a bit. And there's some combat, which surely won't give Princess any fuel for her worries about being some kind of "dangerous beast", nope, none at all!

Lance is fun to write. On the surface, he's your typical boastful swordsman mercenary. But he's actually pretty considerate, and has the skill to back up his words (at least, usually). He's been through some stuff. But he's got that "straightforward, open, nothing-to-hide" sort of vibe to him. If he doesn't like you, he'll tell you. You know exactly where you stand with him. ^_^
